This time Joy challenged us to make a moving card. I admit that I was really scared when given this challenge, but I'm pretty happy with how this turned out. Unfortunately, even with a video tutorial it took me three tries to get the slider part working. And they call me an engineer!! HA! I don't think it's supposed to be that hard. I was just tired. Yeah, that's the excuse that I'm going with. I kept the front pretty simple. The witch is from the Chic and Scary cricut cartridge. I used papers from My Mind's eye, Creative Imaginations, and Pink Paislee.
Then I added my sentiments to the inside. This is a double slider card, so when you pull on the orange tab, both panels pop out. Since it's kind of shocking that another panel comes out, I thought adding a ghost saying 'boo' was appropriate. I hand cut the ghost, freehand since it's such a simple shape.
The stamps are from the Halloween Puns stamps. I embossed both of the sentiments with black embossing powder to make them pop a little bit more.

Oopsy Daisy Gate Fold Card
This week when Joy asked us to do a card with a special fold, I admit that I panicked a little bit. I have never done a card with a special fold before. See, I haven't really been making cards for that long, so I haven't really felt the need to try it yet. I am glad for the challenge though, because this card turned out pretty cute if I do say so myself.
I used some Echo Park paper that isn't quite as neon in real life as it looks in these photos. I also used the 'Oopsy Daisy' stamp from the 'You're So Punny' set.
Head on over to the Joy's life design team blog for more details on this card.

Joy's Life Blog hop and a Giveaway!
Welcome to the Joy's Life Design Team St. Patrick's Day Blog hop! You should have arrived here from Lori's blog. If not, you might want to head on over to the Joy's Life blog and start at the beginning.
Here is the card I created. I used my cricut - the Walk in the Garden cartridge and the Lacy Labels cartridge, along with the "Lucky Me, having you in my life" stamp from the You're So Punny stamp set.
Here is a closeup of the sentiment. I don't do a lot of St. Patrick's day, or a lot of green, so I went with a sort of olive green color and paired it with the kraft to tone it down a bit. Then I decided to keep this card pretty clean and simple because I just love the sentiment and the stitching on the hearts. (I machine sewed the hearts together so that I could fan them up a little bit)
Check it out! I also have a giveaway!
Jennifer Priest at Hydrangea Hippo has agreed to sponsor my giveaway today with YOUR choice of $25 worth of product from her etsy shop. Be sure to hop on over there and check it out, she has a ton of new stuff in stock. My favorites are the trims and the pins, but you get to make your own decision about what's the yummiest!
If you want to be entered to win all you have to do is leave a comment on this post. For an extra entry, become a follower, then leave another comment that you did so. (or that you are already a follower)

Fun news!
First, some fun news from Joy's Life - she is releasing a few new stamps including images!!
Second, I am the featured guest designer on the We R memory keepers facebook page.
I used the Cotton Tail collection and created this layout
and this card
Finally, I have been taking this new E-class that my friend Leslie is doing. It's free, and there is still time to join, so you should check it out. It's all about growing as a person using journaling and art journaling.
I have never done art journaling before, but I am looking forward to it. This is what I created for my first assignment, I went a little of task. This is more a Zentangle than art journaling, but it's something that I have been wanting to try for a while. The idea behind zentangle is meditation through drawing intricate doodles. I think it is something I am going to keep doing, it really is relaxing. I seem to be better at calming my mind when I have something else to focus on that isn't thought intensive, but is still SOMETHING. anyway, so the prompt for this assignment was a quote about stained glass so I thought it would be a perfect application to zentangling. Im pretty happy with it, I never thought I could do something like this.
Sewing, Stamping and a cricut cut

St. Patty's Day Card
I don't normally do anything for St. Patty's Day, and I don't really even care for green, but I guess I got caught up in it this year. I made this card for a couple of challenges.
I used some old Little Yellow Bicycle papers, a ribbon from a william's and sonoma gift box (that I have had since my wedding shower!), and a couple of Joy's Life stamps. (I used the happy from the everyday occasions and the rest is from the holiday occasions.)
The card was featured on the paper issues blog!
This is for the Really Reasonable Ribbon monochromatic green challenge. It is also for the Create blog St. Patty's day challenge. Also the papertake weekly anything goes challenge, the creative inspirations green and white challenge, the charisma cardz ribbon challenge, the do you stack up green challenge, the phindy's place monochromatic green challenge, the pile it on green challenge, and the simon says stamp and show anything goes challenge. wow, there were a lot of green challenges this week - hence the me getting caught up in the challenge thing, I just couldn't keep ignoring it. Also, since I am generally so bad at green, I thought it was a good REAL challenge for me! I really like how this turned out.

Happy Easter stamped background card
I am so excited to share this latest Joy's Life Stamp card with you today! I admit that I don't love making Easter cards. In fact, I rarely do it. This one just came to me though and I kind of love how it turned out!
I used the 'happy' stamp from the Everyday Occasions stamps and paired it with the 'easter' from the Holiday Occasions stamps. I felt that the two different fonts added more visual interest which I liked because I was using the sentiment as my background paper also. Check out the Joy's life DT blog for more details on this card.

First Card published in Cards magazine!
I almost forgot that I can share this now! This is my first card that was published in Cards magazine! I haven't seen it in print yet, but I have seen it online and it's so exciting!
This was part of the Style challenge section - use purple, pink and red along with lace. I used Lily Bee and Crate paper papers and an SRM sentiment sticker.

My Little Shoebox and Unity Stamps card
I had such fun with this card! I used the My Little Shoebox Audrey line and a MLS/Unity stamp. The girls were a little too far apart on the stamp to fit the way I wanted them on the card, so I masked them and stamped each one individually so I could make them a tad closer together. The sentiment is Joy's Life.
I also punched some hearts with a heart shaped hole punch so that the paper peeks through. I never use that hole punch. It is from when I first started scrapping and my mom bought me a big package of scrap stuff including all kinds of deco scissors and stuff. I saved that hole punch and gave it to Ellie to use. It was fun to get it out and use it on this project!

I was going to enter this is the unity stamps challenge for this month, but I didn't read the rules well enough in advance, apparently you have to use ONLY unity stamps. Oh well, it's still cute right?!

confetti stamped cricut masked birthday card
For this card I used some more Joy's Life stamps. I used 'Birthday' from the Everyday Occasions stamps, 'Happy' from the Holiday Occasions stamps and 'Make a Wish' from the 'You're So Punny' stamps.
I used the same stamp masking using a cricut cut out as I did on the bee Buzz card, but this time I used different stamps and different colors of blue to differentiate between the parts of the cupcake. I will be putting a full tutorial on the Scrapstreet magazine blog this Friday.
This card was inspired by the Moxie Fab winter blues challenge, and also the Create blog confetti challenge.
I didn't have any confetti so I made my own using my crop-a-dile big bite and a few scraps of varying shades of blue cardstock. The card took WAY more confetti than I thought it would, and consequently, the punching took FOREVER! I like how it turned out though. I used glossy accents to adhere the confetti.
This card is also for the Charisma Cardz masking challenge, the creative inspirations anything goes challenge, the simon says anything goes challenge, and the paper play something old something new challenge - old cardstock scraps, new stamps.

Cricut masked What's the BuZZ card
My first design team post is up on the Joy's Life Design team blog! I am so excited to be working with Joy's Life stamps! I have been experimenting more with stamps so I wanted to try something a little different. Here is what I came up with.
You can find the 'What's the Buzz?' stamp on the You're So Punny set. Check out the Joy's Life Design team blog for more details on how I created this card.

Pagemaps sketch layout for Webster's Pages
You know I love Webster's Pages, and I also love Pagemaps. So I just HAD to do this layout for a chance to win the new Sunday picnic collection from Webster's Pages.
I used some Bella Blvd and We R Memory Keepers papers and embellishments along with a studio calico wood frame. The stamped leaves are unity stamps and I used a technique with a transparency to get the mirror image of the stamp. Stamp on the transparency then turn it upside down and place it where you want it then rub like a rubon.
