layout for fun!

I haven't been making too many layouts lately, and certainly not just for fun, but made this one! I got these new Webster's Pages papers and couldn't resist making a page with them.

Almost everything on this page is webster's pages except the mist, which is clearsnap, and the sequins.

Eyelet Outlet May Cards

Today I have two cards to share with you using brads from Eyelet Outlet.
First up I have this super bright card that is perfect for spring or summer! I used the Fresh Flower Brads- Pastel on this card, layering them to create dimension. The washi tape and pre-printed sentiment sticker made this card come together super fast!

Supplies:
Bazzill cardstock
Doodlebug patterned paper, washi tape and sticker

This card is on the total opposite end of the color spectrum. It might even be called masculine, although I think it would work for a man or a woman. I used the adorable Puppy Brads

Supplies:
Eyelet Outlet  Puppy Brads
Bazzill cardstock
Webster's Pages patterned paper
Sizzix embossing folder

Joy's Life and Cricut Card

Joy asked us to create cards with a new technique. I decided to try using mists to make a background paper in a unique way. First you wet a glossy cardstock then shake off the excess water. Next you add the mists by spraying a little, but mostly by taking the mister part out and flicking the stick to create droplets of color.

Once that is done, you can lay a sheet of transparency on top and push the colors around with your fingers until you get the look you desire. Just don't push them around too much or they blend all together. Finally, take the transparency off and let dry.

I used stamps from the Everyday Occasions set. The black cardstock was cut with my cricut using the paper lace cartridge. The flower is Webster's pages and the ribbon is may arts. The ink is clearsnap and the bling is hydrangea hippo.

Webster's Pages Christmas Card

I took up the challenge to make a Holiday Card using Webster's Pages products. I had to use some non-holiday supplies because my stash of Christmas themed Webster's products was really low. I added the stamped Tim Holtz trees with the new Clearsnap CHOX ink. The sentiment sticker was from the Girl Land line from Webster's Pages. I cut the center out and used the frame around the Skipping Stones stamped sentiment. The ribbon flower, pin, doily and netting are all from webster's pages.

This is also for the Do you stack up Christmas challenge, the simon says stamp favorite challenge (my favorite is these ribbon roses from Webster's Pages), and the cupcake craft merry christmas challenge.

Skipping Stones Feature Friday

I am up on the skipping stones blog today with this fun card featuring the Margarita Birthday stamp set.

I used some webster's Pages park drive papers on this card. I love how it's elegant but fun at the same time! The inks are from clearsnap. The green ink is stephanie barnard dye ink in lime. I also used sketch 154 from a couple of weeks ago to create this card.

Webster's Pages challenge layout

I have been playing with mixed media lately and created this page for the webster's pages august trends challenge.

Most of this page is Webster's Pages girl land. For the background I used a crafter's workshop template and applied some modeling paste, then let it dry. After it was dry I put the mask back and lightly went over the design with some lilac Clearsnap ink. I also misted the background for more dimension with some Clearsnap smooch spritz and some Tattered angels glimmer mist.

Christmas themed tube set from altered box with cricut and joy's life stamps

This week Joy asked us to work with these tubes! I had my Christmas supplies out and spread all over my work room because the magazines all have their holiday calls out and I was working on stuff for that. So, I was inspired to make my tubes Christmasy.

BUT I used a Halloween Stamp set stamp! Isn't that cool?! I love it when I can make my supplies do double duty!

Speaking of supplies doing double duty, the box that I altered here is from some webster's pages pins packaging. I often save plastic boxes like this one to alter. You could make a tube holder like this out of cardstock, but I like the plastic one because it is more sturdy, especially once the tubes are filled with candy.

To make the holes for the tubes, I just used a punch in the same size as the tubes. Or as close as I had really, mine was scalloped and just a hair too small, but I managed to shove them in there anyway.
The label die cut is from the Lacy Labels Cricut cartridge. I covered up the bird that was at the bottom of the leaf circle, with some holly leaves that I sketched in pencil and then cut free-handed.
I used Staz-On ink, but only inked it lightly so that it worked with the distressed My Mind's Eye papers. The bling is also My Mind's Eye. I used a little bit of Clearsnap ink on the edges of the box so that the white cut edges of the paper didn't show.
The stickers on the accordion flowers are from SRM stickers.

Thank you card

I was inspired for this card by the colors and shapes in the moxie fab tues trigger, and by the horizontal card sketch by kim hughes. as shown below. I used some websters pages ladies and gents papers, and an srm sticker sentiment. this was also inspired by the fabulous felt challenge, but I didnt have any felt so this is actually fleece.

Happily Ever After Card

I am going to try to get a better photo of this, but until then, this one will have to do. for this card, I was inspired by the Webster's Pages hybrid challenge this month to 'cut those papers', and the moxie fab cityscape challenge. for some reason I like to doodle cityscapes when I am sitting in meetings. So, I was feverishly looking through all my work papers for the one that I drew a couple of months ago, but I couldn't find it. Then I thought - ooh I could draw a sort of European/medieval town cityscape, and use THAT as a digi stamp and then mask it with the soft Hollywood Vogue digi papers. Then I added a digital simple sentiment from Paper Crafts magazine - and voila! I printed the sentiment and the castle part on the background, then cut out the city by hand and popped it up on pop dots. I added the Webster's Pages Hollywood Vogue sticker frame, matted on black cardstock, a black twill ribbon, some pins and some pearls and voila! I love the town, but the castle - not so much. So I would like to try another one with just the town, maybe layered. But I ran out of time this weekend. (too much time spent hanging with friends and playing outside) and I just couldn't wait to share my drawing.

Bingo Class at ACOT

One of the classes I did for the crop this past weekend, was how to create your very own Bingo game! Here is my tutorial.

"My daughter is 5, and one of the items on the agenda for this year at school is to be able to identify all of the numbers from 1-100. She has already mastered the counting, but has trouble still with identifying random numbers. So, I thought BINGO would be a great way to help her learn them, while having fun!"

Best Buds - Pagemaps contest

I created this page using the Scrapbook nook feb kit featuring webster's pages, for the pagemaps basic grey contest. I thought I would get a better photo, but I am running out of time, and couldn't get a better one. the ric rac here is deep purple, not black.

dreams come true card

this is another card that I made with my scrapbook nook feb kit. I love webster's pages hollywood vogue! I also used the cricut to paper piece the unicorn. Then I used distress stickles on his mane and tail, and glossy accents on his horn, saddle and feet. I cut part of a kaisercraft bling flower, to add to the saddle. the letters are my little shoebox, but I trimmed them down to fit inside of the basic grey label. I used my martha stewart traditional scallop punch. Since my sewing machine if broken I did some faux stitching. This card is for my daughter. I gave it to her when I got back from the crop and she loved it!

this card may have set a record for most challenges. it just sort of happened that way. I used a sketch from priscillastyles. I paper pieced the unicorn for the moxie fab paper piecing challenge and ashjoy's challenge to do that challenge. ;) this is also for the flourishes 3 patterned papers challenge, the cute card thursday shiny happy cards challenge, the papertake weekly putting on the glitz challenge, the paper play add shine challenge, the dare to be sassy punch challenge and the color cue stamp away with me color challenge.

thinker

this is another page from my crop this weekend. yep, going to be a bunch today ;)

this one is also using the scrapbook nook feb kit, along with some my mind's eye brads and a die cut and some jillibean soup twine.

I used a sketch from the scrappiest, for a challenge at the sweet peach crop shop and creative scrappers - they were both almost the same, and I rotated them and combined them. this is also for the color throwdown pale green, dark olive and blue color challenge.

rodin the wrestler

this uses a sketch from the scrappiest. this is also for the robyns fetish anything goes challenge and the spoonful of sugar anything but a card challenge, and the c.r.a.f.t not a card challenge. I used the my scrapbook nook kit for this, featuring webster's pages. I also used a little bit of webster's pages digi motifs.

Lots of news and an ACOT reveal with Webster's Pages!

So, I went out of town for a week and a whole bunch of cool stuff happened. First, I forgot to tell you that I won one of the Webster's Pages Winter Wonderland challenges for my new blog header, which I designed using their new digi stuff. Then I was featured in their gallery for my card which I made for this month's NVS girls challenge and used the Webster's Pages digital papers as hybrid elements. Then, totally out of the blue, I was informed by Sandy that I had been featured on the Moxie Fab world facebook page for my blue ice cream page posted as my Day 7 countdown page.

hmm, did I forget anything? well, probably I forgot to mention anything about our eventful trip to key west where, in between illnesses I attempted to teach myself how to relax and do nothing. But I think that is a story for another day.

For now, why don't you check out my latest reveal at ACOT featuring Wonder Fall from Webster's Pages.
