YMBD all about the bucks crop this weekend!

check it out - here is part of the info that Cat posted in the forum - precrop challenges have already been posted and the official crop starts tonight. EVERYONE can get bucks. If you play, you are guaranteed to get some bucks! See the details below and in the thread here.

Our official crop kick-off is 7pm EST, Friday January 30th!

Welcome to our "It's all about the Bucks" Winter Online Crop! In this thread you will find all the information you need to help you make the most out of this crop. But if you have a question that is not answered in this post, please feel free to ask it here!

Deadline for Submissions is Midnight EST on Tuesday, February 3rd
For this crop, you may NOT combine challenges.

YMBD Bucks
You are completing challenges for the purpose of earning YMBD Bucks. Your Bucks will be issued when the final tally has been taken after the submission deadline. You are responsible for keeping track (a tally) of the Bucks you earn during the crop. If you fail to keep a proper tally, you may miss out on some Bucks being issued to you, so it is important for you to keep track of your challenges. YMBD Bucks can be converted to shop Gift Cerficates to purchase what YOU want in the YMBD Shop, at the rate of 1000 Bucks = $1.00 USD.

How the Bucks are Calculated
There are four ways you can earn Bucks during this online crop. They are as follows:

Sign-in: A sign-in thread will posted at 7pm EST at the kick-off of our crop on Friday, Jan 30th. You will have all weekend to pop into this thread to sign-in and say hello. So even if you can't crop with us during the weekend, pop in and say hi anyway and you'll earn 100 YMBD Bucks!

Pre-Crop Challenges: There will be three pre-crop challenges posted (28th, 29th, 30th) in the morning. Each pre-crop challenge on it's own is worth nothing. But complete all 3 pre-crop challenges by the crop deadline (Tuesday, Feb 3rd) and you will receive 1000 YMBD Bucks!

Daily DT Challenges: Each day of the crop (Fri/Sat/Sun), our six DT members will each post a "Daily Challenge" (this amounts to 6 challenges/day for a total of 18 challenges). Each Challenge you complete will earn you 250 YMBD Bucks. Complete all 18 Challenges by the deadline and your total earnings would be 4500 Bucks .... but WAIT ... if you DO complete ALL 18 challenges by the deadline we will bump up your total to 5000 YMBD Bucks (that's $5 to spend in the YMBD Shop)!

Bonus Challenges/Games: Each DT Member has been authorized to give away 5000 YMBD Bucks throughout the crop weekend. They've either chosen to do this via Bonus Challenges or Games. Look for their threads titled "Bonus Challenge/Game" to get your hands on these big chunks of Bucks! Instructions for how to earn these big bucks are posted at the end of each of their threads (read and follow their instructions carefully as each member's Bonus Challenge/Game may differ from the other).

Jan Reveal at Dreamer!

Yes, I know it is almost the end of January and I am just coming out with my Jan reveal, but I just really wanted to use snow pictures for these gorgeous Fancy Pants Arctic Chill papers, and we didnt have any snow until last weekend, so I waited.

This one I used Heather's Jan sketch at YMBD. and I just love love love it!

Photobucket

for this one, the background blue-green paper is the same doublesided paper as the striped circle. I loved both sides, so I cut out the circle and then covered the hole with that cardstock.

Photobucket

for this one I used some ink to take the brightness off the shiny pink letters from making memories, so that they went with the more subdued papers.

Photobucket

you dont HAVE to use these papers for snow related stuff. I made these cards with them too, using taylored expressions sketches.

Ice Skating

Disclaimer: I am NOT an ice skater.

This was only the second time in my life that I have been on ice skates. Luckily for me I have pretty good balance. We ended up doing more holding ellie up than actually skating, which turned out good for me because I am not that great at the actual skating. She wasnt exactly a natural but she kept trying, despite not wanting to use the plastic chair to push like the other kids. She had fun though and wants to do it again next weekend

This weekend

yes I know it has been a while. What have I been up to? Im honestly not sure I remember. I had a friend over on Friday night and we had a great time hanging out. Saturday we recovered in the morning then had some people over, then Ellie and I went to a movie - her first movie in the theater - and shopping and got some dinner. It was a girls day out. Sunday, I was supposed to scrapbook, but gosh I can't remember what I did. Oh, that's right, I had Renee and Silas and Ada over. We had a good time catching up. And I did a little scrapbooking. Then on Monday we had parent teacher conferences at ellie's school - she is doing well. The teachers said she is really smart and ahead intellectually for her age but maybe a little behind the other kids in her class in maturity - which is to be expected because she is the youngest. Then we went out to breakfast with Seth's grandmother. Then we got some left handed scissors for Ellie from the teacher store. Then it started snowing so I scrapped and then we went sledding! Ellie had a total blast sledding. She was totally cracking me up. Every time she would say 'I want to do dat again'. I posted some videos on my facebook, but I am sure you will see photos coming out soon on scrap pages.

Back to scrappy stuff - I can't really show you what I was working on this weekend. But I can tell you that it is going to be a fun tutorial that will be available in the 2 Scrappy Chix kit on Feb 1. Below is a picture of the kit and just let me tell you that it is awesome. I am not a huge valentine's fan myself, but I made some pretty cool stuff with this kit - stuff that isnt your typical valentine's day stuff. I can't wait to share it! Just check out all the fun extras in this kit - tulle, paint, a chipboard spinner, a mirrored XOX and those doilies! Oh and that is not to even mention the precious bo bunny papers! you have to check it out HERE.

some WW thoughts and a new goal

So I just thought of a new scrapbooking goal. With everyone talking about how many pages they made in 2008 and how many they would like to make in 2009, I got to thinking about something I read. someone - sorry I dont remember who - said that they keep all of their scrapbook page pictures in one folder to make them easy to find and then she could count them using the computer. What a great idea! I thought that at the time, but it was like Dec and I thought - um too late. But - duh - not for next year! so that is my new resolution - to put all of the photos that I take of my projects and pages into my newly created 'Scrapbook projects 2009' folder. THEN I can count them and find them easily!

ok onto weight watchers stuff - a quick recap:
My new years eve was nice. We went to applebees and I had dinner and dessert and stayed on plan, then I splurged and used some flex points for a martini. I left feeling satisfied, spoiled and not guilty! then I stayed up and scrapbooked until midnight. Dh was up til midnight too. We kissed, then I went to bed.

Yesterday I put away the Christmas decorations, did some online scrapbooking stuff that I needed to get done, then scrapbooked most of the day while I listened to my book on cd that I got from the library. I was so enthralled with the scrapbooking adn the book that I forgot to eat! I ended the day about 7 points UNDER plan! AND I had a brie and carmelized onion quesadilla that I made for myself for lunch - all in all another spoiled but satisfied and not guilty day!

now, today is another story. We are getting ready to go to Disney on Ice with my in laws and I am looking forward to it, but the show is at 11, so I dont know what is going to happen about lunch, and I know I cant eat anything at the show, so I am going to pack a granola bar or something, then later we have dinner at my in laws and that has its own set of problems - challah bread, appetizers, drinks. so, yeah today is going to be tough.

I guess staying home without anything to do makes it a little easier to stay on plan. wish me luck!
