Joy's Life Flower Card

This week the team at Joy's Life are making projects with flowers. It is a perfect theme for dreaming about spring! I grabbed some decidedly spring-y products and created this fun card.

The stamp is from the Mother's and Daughter's set. The papers and die cut are from Crate paper. The bling is My Mind's Eye and the adorable floral brad is from Eyelet Outlet!

Joy's Birthday Card

This week the team at Joy's Life is making cards for Joy's Birthday! I wanted something a little different, so I used this sentiment. It doesn't actually say birthday, but I think it's implied. I also, of course, wanted to make the card bright!
The sentiment is from the Tag You're it ONE set and the colored circles are created with the back of the bloom and grow sentiment from the Tag You're It TWO. I wanted a couple of flowers there and thought that these circles give the idea.

The color scheme was inspired by this week's Runway challenge. The background card is navy, even though it doesn't show up in this photo that well. The inks are clearsnap and the dots are My Mind's Eye.

Joy's Life Valentine's Gift Box

My husband and I don't really celebrate Valentine's Day, so I made this Joy's Life project about something that I love: coffee!!!

I made this box from scratch, without a template or anything. I placed the four K-cups together and measured how wide the square they made was. I also measured how tall a single K cup is.  Basically, you want to draw a square that is the size you want the bottom of your finished box to be, then you draw a band on all sides of that square equal to the height that you want the box to be. You end up with a square within a square. I used my score board to score the lines along the side of the bottom, all the way to the edge of the larger square. The lines will cross at the corners. Next, snip one side of the square formed in each corner. The corners become the tabs to hold the box together. Now, fold and glue! Repeat with a slightly smaller center square (just a hair smaller, not even an eighth of an inch smaller) to make the bottom.

Before I folded and glued THIS box though, I stamped the hearts with clearsnap chalk ink in petal pink. The window was created using a spellbinders die and some finesse to get it to fit through my big shot. (I folded the one edge up and over the cutting plate.)

I added acetate to the back of the cut part to create a window. The May arts ribbon is tucked under and glued between the paper and the acetate.

I then stamped the sentiment with more Clearsnap chalk ink in a slightly darker color, on some Bo Bunny cardstock and cut it into a banner. The bling is My Mind's Eye.

The paper that I used for the box top is from Crate paper and of course the stamps are all Joy's Life. The hearts are from the Joyful Hearts set and the sentiment is from the You're so Punny set.

This is entered in the charisma cardz anything goes challenge, the caboodle doodles valentine challenge, the pink elephant love is in the air challenge,  the flourishes timeless tuesday put your heart on it challenge, and the crafty creations love and or hearts challenge.

My Mind's Eye Sketch challenge

I just got some of the new MME lines and couldn't wait to use them! This sketch challenge seemed like the perfect opportunity! Here is the sketch...

And here is my layout featuring mostly the brand new My Girl line. I love the bright colors of this line! The chicken wire background was created with a Crafter's workshop stencil and some clearsnap stephanie barnard dye ink spray

Ballerina Card

I created this card for Clearsnap last month. The ballet slippers background was created by mixing chalk ink and twinkle watermark ink.

After stamping the ballerina, I colored her with copic markers before using some smooch and smooch glitz accent inks on her for a little bit of sparkle!

The stamps are from Hampton Arts Graphic 45 line. The papers are Bazzill. The die is spellbinders and the ribbon is may arts.

Joy's Life Feb Blog Hop

Welcome to the Joy's life 3D animals and card folds blog hop! You should have arrived here from Cyndy's blog. If not, you might want to go back and start at the beginning to make sure you don't miss any inspiration or prizes!!

I have been wanting to use this adorable skunk cut from the cricut camping critters cartridge ever since I saw the 'that stinks' stamp on Joy's Wild life puns set

I didn't make it 3D but I did make it interactive! I cut along the edge of the skunk's tail so that you can pull out a hidden part with the sentiment on it.

This is what it looks like pulled out.
