I havent been blogging much lately. But then I havent really been scrapping much lately either, things have just been so busy!

Here is a page that I made this weekend for my DT work at Creative Inkling in Lahaska, PA.

I did get a few other pages done this weekend, but nothing that I can share on my blog yet, oh wait did I share this one yet? This one is for Prima's build a page sketch this month.

2 Scrapp Chix March Kit

Here are my creations from the 2 Scrappy Chix March kit. I just loved this kit. Honestly, when I looked at it I didnt think I would, but the more I got into it the more I loved it!

Dont you just love how the subtle blues in the papers play off of the subtle blue in the photo?

The big butterfly was totally an afterthought. I had it laying on my desk waiting for a layout about the butterfly museum and I totally forgot about it. When I found it, I thought, hmmm, is it too bright for this subtle page? But the more I look at it the more I like it!

I used some interesting techniques on this one. Cut out the center of the paper, then sprayed the corners with Maya Mist (that came in the kit). Then I used some markers to color in the large flower. Finally I used the stickles that came in the kit to give a little oomph to the center of the red flowers.

Just a couple of simple cards with some scraps from the other projects. I thought these papers were soothing and would make good sympathy cards. (Plus I was out of sympathy cards, so it worked perfectly)

And this is my brand spankin new updated card organizer. I used cardboard from shipping envelopes and sprayed the non shiny side with the maya mist. Then I used some letter stickers from my little shoebox and some tabs from ymbd. voila! my ugly photo box that I was using with scrap cardstock dividers, is not gorgeous!

Just an FYI - there is a member-run crop this weekend at YMBD!

What is a member run crop? well it is a crop where you (the members) post the challenges and pick the winners.

Purim show

here is a VERY quickly edited photo from the Purim show today - doesnt ellie look cute?!

Weekend Warrior!

Wow, this weekend was in a word - INSANE! Not to bore you, since I know you dont want to hear all the details but here is a quick run-down. I had Friday off, so ...

Friday: drop Ellie off at school, go to Target for a b-day present, dr appt for me, read my book for an hour or two, pick ellie up and take her to the dentist, bookstore to kill time while the flouride on her teeth sets, ice cream for being a good girl at the dentist - LOL - how ironic is that?! home to make Challah, read a little more because I just HAD to finish up the book. Bed.

Sat: trim bushes out front, reorganize some things in the kitchen (a drawer and two shelves so that maybe we can use the kitchen table as a table instead of an extension of the pantry), pick up dog poop, fun right?! and there was lots because we slacked over the winter. Clean off all the flower beds and pots in the back yard, plant a couple of flowers that ellie got at the flower show, plant peas, wash cars and all the outside toys, shower, laundry, put ALL my scrapbook pages (like 100+) into albums (dont ask what prompted me to do that), go to bed.

Sun: wake up sore from weeding so much (I weed at warp speed), time change messes me up and we are almost late for the birthday party. I was really nervous because I didnt know anyone, but I am so happy that I met some nice people and learned a few things about the other kids in Ellie's class and the teachers. Ellie had a great time! Until she threw up in the car on the way home that is. I think it was car sickness, and I guess it was my fault for not expecting it, I mean I get car sick too, but she never has. She was looking down and playing with the wipe off board that was the party favor, and I took a back road and next thing you know - ewwww! So disgusting! She hasnt thrown up since she was a baby, and even then not much (guess she gets that from her mom too) but let me say - ewwwww! I miss the baby vomits because toddler is nasty! So when we got home she took a bath and seth hosed off the car seat and we put the cover in the wash. Then I went out to Kohls because I wanted to get something new to wear to the Girl's night out this Friday night. and seth needed jeans. Kohls was PACKED! I tried on half the store it seemed, but finally ended up with a jacket and sleeveless shirt. I dont know if I am going to wear a black skirt or jeans - have to find out how dressy the place we are going is. but man shopping in those kinds of crowds is tiring. I came home exhausted but we needed to make Hammantaschen since I made the dough last weekend. So we made the cookies then I used teh leftover poppy seeds to make biscuits, then I took a short nap, then we went to Sangkee with my in laws, then home to put ellie to bed - she wanted to do some of the pages in her letters book, then seth and I had to fold like 6 loads of laundry. then I erased the marks from about 20 pages of the book (so we can do it again after we finish, since she needs the practice holding the pencil) then bed.

Mon: well I slept like death. Ellie woke up to go potty and got pee everywhere, around 4 am. Then I ignored the alarm, and we were almost late to school. I decided to take the day off of work and go to teh Purim show, Ellie was thrilled that I went, so I am glad I did. I brought Seth's Bubby and Earl too. Then I forgot to pack her a lunch because I thought they were having a party after the show which I assumed would have food. Oh well I picked her up after the show and now we are home, she is watching TV and I have to get to work for at least a few hours.

so, here are a couple of scrapboook pages from last weekend, since I didnt do any this weekend:

This is Ellie dancing at Mickey's backyard BBQ in disney world. This was for a couple of challenges. including to use the song 'Vogue' in a layout, so I thought these pics were perfect.

the frame thing is tattered angels with alcohol ink, and stickles on it. over a maya road sheer and a flower.

the challenge for this one was an ad. I stayed pretty true to the ad, but I wrote more than I expected and I dont like how this ended up looking bottom heavy.

this one was a lift from a memory makers magazine. It looks crooked here - the pink scallops, but they arent really, that is from how I cropped the photo of the page in photoshop.

Creativity and a great weekend!

First the prompt of the week from Scrapperie is "what does creativity mean to you?". I dont usually post from prompts but this one just sort of spoke to me. To me creativity is a way of living your life. Creativity isnt just painting or drawing, or even crafting, it is more about having an open mind, being flexible and able to think outside the box on a daily basis. I use scrapbooking as my main creative outlet, to more or less keep my creative muscles in shape (and to relieve stress but that's not the question of the day) but I also feel like I live my life creatively. I solve problems creatively, play with my daughter creatively, and I had another example but I just forgot it because Ellie just requested that Seth play her "Paper Planes" again. LOL! that cracks me up, it is not a kids song in any way shape or form, in fact there are a couple questionable words in it, but they are hard to understand so I dont mind her listening to it, still we need to get her interested in some other songs.

Ok, so this weekend. Well yesterday I scrapbooked all day because it was the last day of February and I wanted to try and finish up my pages for the Fantastic February at Scrapperie and the 5th Anniversary party at Scrapbook Dreamer, and a couple pages for YMBD and a couple for ACOT. Yeah I know, I keep busy. But I guess it sort of goes back to creativity - I find that I cant really scrapbook without a challenge, and I love combining them. Its like having some parameters to narrow down the possibilities allows me to be more creative in the way I meet those parameters. Without some 'rules' there are just so many possibilities that I could stand there for hours deciding which paper to start with. Ok, that's an exaggeration, but still you get the point.

Ok so since I scrapbooked all day yesterday - well not all day becasue I did do some sand art with ellie, and clean a little and have lunch, and do like 8 loads of laundry. Anyway, so today I had a girls day with ellie, we painted our toenails and ellie wanted her nails painted, and then we went to the Please Touch Musuem, and then to wendy's for a snack, then shopping for shoes, then to the Game Stop where I bought Dance Dance Revlution for me to workout with. I have wanted it for a while, and been not buying it and I just caved. We also got ellie two pairs of shoes at payless. then we made two apple pies as a family, then ordered pizza - lol - the irony!

anyway here are a couple pages for you:
